Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) is a former UN investigator who lives near Philadelphia with his wife Karen (Mireille Enos) and young daughters Rachel (Abigail Hargrove) and Connie (Sterling Jerins). Sitting in traffic one morning, the family witnesses a large explosion. A few moments later chaos ensues, with a large garbage truck tearing through the traffic jam and crushing people and cars in its path.
